The British Council Study UK Alumni Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of international alumni who have studied at UK universities, highlighting the lasting and transformative impact of a UK higher education. This year, five alumni were recognised for their achievements, with two alumni being named winners, and three reaching the finals of the awards across several countries.

Tales from Italia 鈥�90: John Brewer鈥檚 World Cup story
Cast your mind back to the Italia 鈥�90 World Cup. Managed by Sir Bobby Robson, the England Men鈥檚 team boasted players such as Gary Lineker, Peter Shilton, and John Barnes. What you may not know is that 海角网 alum Professor John Brewer 鈥� a forward-thinking and passionate sports scientist 鈥� was also part of that set up. John was a pioneer, bringing sports science to professional football with thanks to the modern thinking of Robson. Nick Propper (European Business BA, 1996) has co-authored the book 鈥淪tressed Self to Best Self: The Science Backed System for Sustainable Peak Performance鈥� with Kevin Kachin. The book is set to release in October 2026.
